Where to move to in Kent?

I am currently looking to relocate from Derby to Kent and am looking for advice on the best area. I will be moving with my fiance and will probably be making a family there so good schools is a must. A rail station would also be handy. I'd like to live nearish some nice shops and a cinema (I don't drive) and I love local history which Kent seems to be full of. What places would you recommend?
