Why would you suppose that less than half of whites?

As said racism is a matter of perception. The half of whites who said racism is not wide spread most likely have not been involved in racist activity or around it. While the African-American population is the one receiving the racist acts against them from the other communities of race. Whites do have a growing amount of discrimination against them just because of the laws to limit discrimination. People are afraid to hire a white over another race out of fear of law suits, or not hire a woman over a man for the same reason. Racism against whites prevail on many tribal reservations as well. Racism in this country will not improve as long as one race feels that they are being treated lower than another, and the laws against them only worsen the problem by reversing the role of who feel discriminated against.
