How exactly do they think the world will end on December 21, 2012?

im not saying i believe in this, but the people that are talking about this say the Mayan calender predicted the Apocalypse will occur on that date, but they aren't saying what they think will exatly happen (like maybe an asteroid, or the Sun having or supernova, or a black hole) what do they think will end the world?
